The Textile Specialty Group Postprints Vol. 1 (1991) contain the proceedings from the textiles sessions of AIC's 19th Annual Meeting in Albuquerque, NM.
The four papers in this volume address textile conservation treatment--three unique treatments and a group presentation on treatment theory. In the first, a complicated deinstallation/re-installation of a tapestry series is discussed. Also included are two costume treatments--one, the treatment of a 17th dress; the other, the treatment of a fragile man's suit excavated from an archaelogical site, also dating to the 17th century. The fourth presents a roundtable discussion on the approaches to treatments, and, in turn ecourages us to re-examine these processes for appropriateness.
